A Major Milestone

I finished regular law school classes. I took my last final exam last week. All that stands between me and graduation in mid-January is a long paper and one week class. I am working on the paper now and hope to have it substantially complete shortly after New Years Day.

So what am I going to do with all my “free” time, now that I don’t have night class? My wife is afraid that I will become a couch potatoe, seeing as how two days ago I upgraded our TV package from the cheap family channels only to the 150 channels. I only did that because I wanted ESPN. It is bowl game season and my father in law is coming for a week, and he must have ESPN, otherwise I would be much less than a considerate, gracious host.

Free time is relative. Rather than ask what to do with my new time, I am asking what have I been neglecting because of law school? That would be, in no particular order: exercise, sleep, playing with my kids, religious study.  I still have to study for and pass a state bar exam, which will occupy most of my summer.

I also want to get back to better blogging. I am going to put a music player on this blog to expose some very cool music. I am going to be posting some stuff about Abraham, The Hittites and ancient Mesopotamian history & archaeology, and the struggle between modern religion and secularism. I also want to live blog my way through Cleon Skousen’s The 5,000 Year Leap.  (This book was published in 1981 and yet today is #431 on the Amazon best seller list! Most books I look at on Amazon rank around the 1.5 millionth range.)

So stay tuned, all five of you faithful readers out there, 2010 is going to be exciting times on metalbandpromisedland!

  1. Two extra hands at dinner and bedtime is plenty to keep me satisfied for a while! :)

  2. Good. I can read the blog, and I dont have to read the book. Awesome!!!
